A landscape built from carbon dioxide, made in several versions.
Historical. NOAA records of atmospheric CO₂ become a source of error in photographs: a picture from 1912 is distorted in proportion to the 284.76 parts per million in the air that year, and a present-day landscape is pushed through every value from the year 1000 to today's readings above 410 ppm.
Derivas. Walks with a sensor that reads CO₂ in real time. In Mexico City, the readings and the soundscape built a multichannel installation whose image and sound distort with the CO₂ level. In Catalonia, a fixed camera recorded two hours of sunrise in Foixa alongside its CO₂ data, and a thirty-minute walk in Barcelona became a single image in which every pixel is replaced by a CO₂ value. In New York, an hour-long drift through the Bronx and Manhattan was condensed into one generative image of colour, data and time.
